Women's Birkenstocks - Do You Know What You Are buying?
Well do you? I bet you don't know a lot about women's birkenstocks. You probably wear them, are considering wearing them, or know someone who wears them, yet few people know more about women's birkenstocks than the fact that they are a fashion shoe item.
That's ok, just give me five minutes, a couple of paragraphs, and you will be all the wiser. I'll keep it simple, try not to make it too boring, and then at your next dinner party, you can enchant your guests with your new found knowledge of women's birkenstocks. (OK, well not being really serious there), but it's always good to know a little more about what you are buying, wearing or considering buying. So here goes.
1) 1902. Birkenstocks (the family) were originally known and famed for their development of the arch support for shoes, and they started exporting these supports all over the world.
2) The Birkenstocks published a book, 'Birkenstocks Podiatry' (podiatry means the same as chiropody, the study of all things to do with feet). This became one of the most widely read journals on feet, and specialists all around the world agreed with the Birkenstock innovative ideas on caring for the feet. These guys knew their stuff.
3) 1964 Karl Birkenstock, one of the grandsons, takes all the innovations of the past years, puts them all together and launches the first ever Birkenstock sandal.
4) Finally in 1973 the classic, the one we all know so well, the Arizona two-strap is introduced. Well, from there on they just went from strength to strength.
So you see, women's birkenstocks are not just fashion items, and not only designed to look good, or go with that pink dress. They have been developed over many years by experts in the field of foot care, to support your feet, using their world famous arch support design.
Each contour in women's birkenstocks is specifically designed to stretch, flex and move naturally.
When you wear women's birkenstocks, your feet will benefit from easier ovement, and even greater circulation. I do so love it when I can pretend I buy shoes for health reasons!
When I buy my birki's I say it's not a treat for me, it's a treat for my feet!
